Yashraj Bharati Samman will be awarded every  year on 16 March to 3 individuals/organisations/institutions/social enterprises.
The Samman will consist of:
May-July
The list of Nominator’s is reviewed and finalised for the annual cycle after considerable research and subsequent approval from Advisory Committee and Board of Trustees.
9 July
The Nomination process begins. Nominator’s invites generated and sent to the Chairperson of the Foundation for dispatch.
July
All nominator’s invites, including digital invitations, are sent out in batches.
July-Sep
The Awards Committee establishes contact with Nominators for assistance during Nomination process.
30 Sep
Last date for sending Nominations.
Sep Onwards
The Selection Process Begins.

Eligibility Criteria

While choosing to apply yourself or for someone else, kindly consider the following:

The YBS in all three categories is not meant as a lifetime achievement, rather it is aimed at celebrating the ongoing transformative work undertaken by an individual or organisation.

Please Note: Any individual/organization/institution/social enterprise will only be considered by the Technical Secretariat and the Grand Jury through the process of nomination (via website or email). There is no other way to submit a nomination. 

An ideal nominee for YBS in all 3 categories must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

Individual (working independently or within an organisation)

Organisation (including specific projects run by an organisation)

Institutions (academic as well as research based institutions)

Social enterprises (established enterprises as well as start-ups)

  • In case of individuals, the nominee may or may not be a citizen of India but their primary place of work must be located within the Indian geographical territory
  • In case of organisations, institutions or social enterprises the nominee must have a registered office in India and their primary place of work must lie within the country
  • In the case of individuals, preference would be given to place or type of achievement rather than citizenship of the person
  • In case of organisations, institutions or social enterprises, preference would be given to grassroots establishments from India. However, international organisations would also be considered
  • In case of individuals, the nominee must have at least 10 years of work experience in the field that corresponds with the 3 Samman categories
  • In case of organisations, the nominee must possess at least 5 years of experience as an organisation corresponding with the 3 Samman categories.
  • In case of institutions, the nominee must possess at least 5 years of experience in the field corresponding with the 3 Samman categories.
  • In case of social enterprise, the nominee must possess at least 3 years of experience in the field corresponding with the 3 Samman categories.
  • In the case of individuals, a Samman can not be accorded posthumously. However, there is scope for consideration on this aspect under special circumstances, only after an unanimous agreement by the Technical Secretariat, the Advisory Board and the Grand Jury.
